Massillon Cable TV and Clear Picture Announce Second Phase of the DTV Rollout
The second phase of Massillon Cable TV and Clear Picture’s DTV Rollout will begin on May 12. During this phase, analog channels will be eliminated to free up space to launch dozens of new digital and HD channels! Every Tuesday from May 12 to July 14, five to eight analog channels will be removed. The space once used to transmit these channels will be replaced with new digital and HD channels at no cost to customers.Customers who are prepared for the digital switch will not be affected by these eliminations. However, TV sets not connected to a digital converter from MCTV or CPI or equipped with a built-in QAM tuner* will be affected. To help customers prepare for the switch, Massillon Cable TV and Clear Picture are providing customers with Mini-Max digital converters. There are three ways to order digital converters:

HD Channel Realignment
We are on the brink of a big change in HD viewing options. By the end of June, we will add about 50 HD networks. This is the final step in our DTV Rollout. As promised, the elimination of analog channels will lead to the addition of many HD channels. We want to make it easy for you to move from a standard definition TV to an HDTV and still find your favorite channels so we are standardizing the HD channel lineup. The basic idea is simply to add 600 to any standard definition channel to find the same channel in HD. For example, TNT is channel 24, so TNT HD should be 624 and so forth. Currently, a few HD channels don’t match this format so we will move them over the next couple of weeks. A simple HD Lineup as of April 15, 2009 is below. You don’t need to worry about your DVR settings as we make this change. The DVR remembers the network (not the channel number) so your series and recording settings will shift when the channels shift. We know you’re excited about these changes but please don’t call to ask which HD channels will be launched when. We will send you periodic updates as we move closer to the launch dates.
